What to Expect this Season
In September, we will be offering u-pick raspberries and u-pick blackberries including some new blackberry patches we are excited to debut. We will also be offering our delicious u-press apple cider. Each group will get a crate of apples and a staff member will show them how to use our old fashion cider presses.ย Then the fun begins!
Our apple picking will begin the first weekend of October, which is when our apples are ripe and ready for picking. This year, due to COVID, we will be doing things a little differently.ย (Read COVID infoย here). We are thrilled to offer a reservation system for guests wishing to plan ahead and not have to stand in the entrance line. Reservations will be available beginning the Tuesday before each weekend. In order to reserve a time for your group, you will pre-purchase one bag of u-pick apples for $15. Our bags fit anywhere between 3.5-5 pounds depending on the size of apple and how many you cram in there ๐.ย Please only pre-purchase one bag per group, you do not need to purchase a bag for each member of your group.
During your reserved time slot, your group will enter the farm at a separate entrance instead of standing in the general admission line and begin enjoying your time on the farm right away. Once on the farm, there will be additional offerings such as u-press apple cider and u-pick berries for purchase. Each activity will have a table by it where you can order and pay, instead of paying in our small country store as we have done in previous years. This will allow our guests to remain outside and socially distant to enjoy all our activities if they choose. Our country store will remain open for guests who would like to browse our jams, sauces, soy candles and other items.
Guests without a reservation will still have a chance to enter the farm through the gate by our country store.ย We will admit groups based on the number of people on the farm at the time.ย We highly encourage you to reserve a timeslot with a pre-purchased bag but understand this is not always possible.ย We will do our best to accommodate as many guests as possible.
In addition to our reservation system, we have added some additional guidelines due to COVID-19. We will be sending out additional information concerning these safety measures. If you plan to visit us this season, we encourage you to visit our website and check-out our COVID update to learn more about everything we are doing to keep our family, staff, and guests safe this season. (Read COVID info here).
Thank you all for your support and understanding.ย We look forward to seeing you at Willowbrook Apple Farm soon!
