Fall Flies By, Just Like That…

After the fire at Los Rios destroyed their main structures, we made the decision to donate our proceeds from our first weekend to help them rebuild. As soon as we put up the sign stating what we were doing, we had people go back into the store to purchase more because they wanted to do their part in helping our community. We had other guests say they made the trip up because they wanted to support the Oak Glen community after everything we went through with the Apple Fire and then the El Dorado fire. Our hearts were filled with joy and overwhelming gratitude interacting with all of you – THANK YOU!

However, we walked around later to see how many apples were left on our trees…after the overwhelming support we saw this first weekend, the answer is a surprise even to us: not many. We spent the morning taking stock, and trying to determine a course of action for those of you that were so looking forward to coming out later in October. We will open and host you all month, but may not have apples for picking. Every year is so different with our crop and the number of visitors we have early in the season, so we really appreciate everybody’s understanding.

We will continue to be open for u-press cider, caramel apples, full-service BBQ, and of course meet and greets with our animals through the rest of October! If you do want to pick apples after this next weekend, we hope you will consider supporting Los Rios Rancho, whose u-pick fruit operation is open on the North Side of their farm. Afterward, we hope you will come say hi, press some cider, and enjoy a caramel apple with us!

Our Wine Tasting and S’mores event continues to be super popular and a ton of fun. We will continue to take reservations for this event through our website. We sold out for both wine tasting events this past weekend, so if you are interested in attending, we recommend making a reservation soon. These are family-friendly events and really is the perfect way to end a day up in Oak Glen!

Thank you again for your understanding and support. We are so grateful to still be here to welcome you all this fall season. If you plan on joining us this weekend, it is supposed to be a high of 60 degrees, so we recommend bringing a sweater! We will be bringing out our hot apple cider to enjoy on the farm.

Warmest Regards,
The Driscolls

We will end each day we are open with our hugely popular Wine Tasting and S’mores event from 4pm until 6pm. Right at 4pm we will light our bonfire and welcome our guests to enjoy the warmth of the fire and the clean mountain air while sipping wine and roasting s’mores – it is truly magical and the perfect way to end an autumn day in Oak Glen! We highly recommend you reserve a spot ahead of time for this event since we will sell out. We are also offering individually wrapped charcuterie boxes that pair perfectly with your wine this year. The charcuterie boxes need to be reserved at least 10 days in advance. Book by clicking here.

What to Expect this Season

In addition, we have added some additional guidelines due to COVID-19. We will be sending out additional information concerning these safety measures. If you plan to visit us this season, we encourage you to visit our website and check-out our COVID update to learn more about everything we are doing to keep our family, staff, and guests safe this season. Thank you all for your support and understanding. We look forward to seeing you at Willowbrook Apple Farm soon!
